Barely Visible Bikinis Competition Suits

Competition Suits

Barely Visible Bikinis is your choice for custom made, individually tailored contest suits; whether for local competitions or national swimwear calendar contests. Barely Visible has been making posing suits for some of the best known competitors for years and will now be offering these suits via the Internet. They are able to get your suit done in as little as 5 days.

They also have many suits made up in store to purchase. Please feel free to send them a design, picture, drawing, etc. of your custom design or call them at 770-506-1887 and ask to speak to one of the onsite designers about a custom made suit.

About Barely Visible Bikinis

Barely Visible Bikinis opened their first store in Atlanta, Georgia over 18 years ago by sisters Wanda and Linda. Linda had sewn since childhood and had always made her and Wanda’s suits because both were particularly top heavy and never able to fit in regular bikinis available in stores. Barely Visible is and will always be a family business, that truly tries to make a product that no one else offers.

As the name implies we started this business for people who have great bodies and wanted to show them off in a one of a kind very sexy bikini. That is not where we followed, while we still do make suits for woman with great figures, our average customer is usually a 15 year old that wears a d-dd top and has never found a suit to fit her.
As well, our other most “popular” customer is the woman that truly has problems with her figure, such as being very top heavy, and can only be fit by having her suit made especially for her. Luckily our cups go up to size G and we make our swimwear so we are able to copy their suit if they want.

Through the next 18 years the store prospered more then anyone’s expectations — and now we reach out with the internet to attract even more attention. The whole family is working together to create a successful swimsuit store, that customers can feel welcome in and feel satisfied when they leave. We’re always glad to take the time to help those who want to find that right suit for them.

Prior to the date of auditions for The Ultimate Body all candidates must fill out an online application at www.theultimatebodytvshow.com. An application must be on file with Lyons Entertainment in order to be considered on the day of auditions. Applications are also available at the door the day of auditions (late fee will apply).Talent currently attached to this project includes winner of the Mr. World and Mr. USA titles and emcee of The Mr. Olympia contests, Bob Cicherillo who has signed on as host; with IFBB Bikini Pro and top fitness supermodel Marzia Prince, IFBB Hall of Fame bodybuilding legend Rich Gaspari and Natural Mr. Universe, Mr. America and Mr. California Doug Burns signed on as judges. UCW Magazine’s online radio broadcast will host The Ultimate Body radio show which will feature weekly updates regarding each episode of the show.

The Ultimate Body is inspired by executive producer David Lyons’s own inspirational story of beating the odds. Diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis in 2006 at the age of 47, David Lyons was told by doctors that he would likely lose his ability to walk. Rather than give into his illness and become sedentary, David decided to become a competitive bodybuilder, founding the MS Bodybuilding Challenge and competing in body building competitions. On August 22, 2009 David Lyons became the first person with Multiple Sclerosis to compete in a Level 5 NPC Bodybuilding Competition, taking home the trophy for “Most Inspirational Competitor.” He has also been asked to guest pose at next year’s Natural Mr. Olympia competition in Chicago, a tremendous honor, by former Natural Mr. Olympia John Hansen. Proud of his achievements so far, David is never satisfied to rest on his laurels and exclaims, “Next year I win!” He has already begun his training for next year’s bodybuilding competition. David Lyons is an ideal example of what the human body can achieve, and he expects no less from the competitors who will be cast to compete on The Ultimate Body. “We are looking for thirteen men and thirteen women who are willing to give their all, and ultimately find that center of strength to push forward when the going gets tough. We will be looking for this quality at our open audition event on October 17th,” states Lyons.

For directions and additional information regarding this one day only open audition event for The Ultimate Body call 1-877-467-5786 or visit www.theultimatebodytvshow.com.

FDA Sends Warning Letter to American Cellular Laboratories

The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has issued a warning for bodybuilding supplements that may contain illegal and dangerous steroids.Bodybuilding supplements make up a huge component of the health and fitness market because people think that by spending money on supplements and using them they can get in good shape.

According to the FDA products made by American Cellular Laboratories, Inc., may actually contain certain types of synthetic steroids that can be dangerous to your health.

They have sent a warning letter to the company regarding their supplements, which include; “TREN-Xtreme,” “MASS Xtreme,” “ESTRO Xtreme,” “AH-89-Xtreme,” “HMG Xtreme,” “MMA-3 Xtreme,” “VNS-9 Xtreme,” and “TT-40-Xtreme.”

Steroids have been proven to be harmful to the liver and kidneys, thus the agency is warning consumers to stay away from products that boast to contain steroid like ingredients.

“Although products containing synthetic steroids are frequently marketed as dietary supplements, they are not dietary supplements, but instead are unapproved new drugs that have not been reviewed by the FDA for safety and effectiveness,” the agency said in a statement.

FDA advises against use of body-building products containing steroids or steroid-like substances

July 28, 2009

The Food and Drug Administration issued a public health advisory today warning consumers to stop using body-building products that are marketed as containing steroids or steroid-like substances.

The FDA has received reports of “serious adverse events” associated with the use of these products, including serious liver injury, stroke, kidney failure and pulmonary embolism (artery blockage in the lung). The agency advises consumers to stop ingesting body-building products — no matter who is the manufacturer – that claimto contain steroid-like substances or to enhance or diminish androgen-, estrogen-, or progestin-like effects in the body.

The agency also issued a warning letter to American Cellular Laboratories Inc. for marketing and distributing body-building products containing synthetic steroid substances. The FDA said that although these products are marketed as dietary supplements, they are actually unapproved and misbranded drugs.

The FDA has received five adverse-event reports, including serious liver injury, in men taking products marketed as dietary supplements by American Cellular Laboratories including TREN-Xtreme and MASS Xtreme. Acute liver injury is known to be a possible side effect of using products that contain anabolic steroids. Some of the cases resulted in hospitalization, but there were no reports of death or acute liver failure.

“Products marketed for body-building and claiming to contain steroids or steroid-like substances are illegal and potentially quite dangerous,” said Commissioner of Food and Drugs Margaret A. Hamburg. “The FDA is taking enforcement action today to protect the public.”

The products listed in the warning letter to American Cellular Laboratories include “TREN-Xtreme,” “MASS Xtreme,” “ESTRO Xtreme,” “AH-89-Xtreme,” “HMG Xtreme,” “MMA-3 Xtreme,” “VNS-9 Xtreme,” and “TT-40-Xtreme,” and are sold on the Internet and in some stores. These products, which claim to contain steroid-like ingredients but in fact contain synthetic steroid substances, are unapproved new drugs because they are not generally recognized as safe and effective. In addition, the products are misbranded because the label is misleading and does not provide adequate directions for use.

Consumers taking body-building supplements that claim to contain steroids or steroid-like substances should stop using them immediately. Consumers should also consult a healthcare professional if they suspect they are experiencing problems associated with the products. Healthcare professionals and consumers are encouraged to report adverse events that may be related to the use of these types of products to the FDA’s MedWatch Program by calling (800) FDA-1088.

Mystro Clark to flex comedy muscles at show

Mystro Clark knows how to make people laugh, but seldom has he had such an extraordinary opportunity to tickle so many funnybones. You see, Clark will serve as Master of Ceremonies at the upcoming WNBF Pro Natural U.S. Cup Bodybuilding Championships and Figure Contest (http://www.uscupnorcal.com/index.html) at the Crest Theatre in Sacramento, and it will be his job to make sure the audience doesn’t tire of the endless procession of beautiful semi-naked bodies. Fat chance of that, but you can bet that athletes and fans alike will be fair game for Clark’s ribald humor in this unique environment, and everyone should have a rollicking good time even in the midst of some serious competition.

Many in the audience will remember Clark as the American host of the syndicated series Soul Train from 1997 until 1999, handpicked by producer Don Cornelius himself. Mystro went on to become a film and television actor, and a writer for the show Cousin Skeeter and starred in many TV series such as The Newz (sketch comedy), The Show, Pulled Over, That’s Life, Lovespring International and The Shield. He also made several guest appearances on television shows, and has starred in the movies Chairman of the Board, Storm Catcher, Out at the Wedding, A Few Good Men, and the 2009 film Shrink. He also formed a music label, where he produced and released four projects including the album “Holy Water”.

But comedy is his forte, and Mystro has received standing ovations on HBO DEF COMEDY JAM, and 3 BET COMIC VIEW. He also appears on the Def Jam All Stars DVD series and can be seen live in theatres across the country or heard on XM satellite radio regularly. His latest comedy CD “Sexy, Funny, Bastard” is available online at cdbaby.com.

A native of Dayton, Ohio, Mystro attended the University of Dayton where he started DJ-ing parties with friends, and doing stand-up comedy. After winning a national college comedy search he was hooked on being a professional comedian. He graduated from college and worked as an Army Chemical weapons officer and Medical Technologist before moving to Los Angeles where, within three years, he landed his own TV series.

Mystro is ready for you - are you ready for him!?! Of course, you have to come to the show to find out, but where else can you enjoy world-class athletic competition hosted by a world-class comedian?

Vadia appearing at U.S. Pro Natural Bodybuilding Cup

The upcoming 2009 U.S. Pro Natural Cup Bodybuilding and Figure Championships on September 26 in Sacramento will be enhanced by the presence of the one and only “Vadia” - singer, songwriter, and producer - who will open the event with her emotive rendition of the Star Spangled Banner.

Although perhaps better known for her gospel singing, the Oakland native has the extraordinary vocal ability to adapt to almost every style of singing including jazz, show tunes, r&b, or popular music. One of five children, Vadia was inspired by the Gospel community at an early age. She began singing at age 5 and was recognized as a prodigy destined for great ministry through song.

Her musical skill has gradually and continually developed as a choir director, minister of music at her church, and as president of the California State Baptist Convention’s Youth and Young Adult music department. Vadia conducts her own annual gospel music workshop - now in its third year – and, along with her band and singing group “Predestined”, she has offered the Sacramento gospel community new and advanced instruction in gospel music as well as two great finale concerts in 2007 and 2008.

Vadia has been awarded the BMA Award for the Best Gospel Female Performance, Best Live Gospel Performance, the Academy of Gospel Music Youth Legacy Award, the Observer Media Newspaper Group 30 under 30 Extraordinary Achievement Award and many more. She has appeared on the stage with, opened for, or sang background for many national Gospel artists, including, Kirk Franklin, Marvin Sapp, Tonex, Mary Mary, Douglas Miller, LaShun Pace, Crystal Aikins, Walter and Edwin Hawkins and many others. She has become the premiere “Urban Gospel” singer in Northern California and the East Bay.

Also a talented songwriter, Vadia shares her faith through her lyrics and by vocally creating an environment of heavenly praise and personal reflection. She is considered a representative of the Levitical music ministry. Vadia is currently working on her Sophomore 2009 project “The God Life” following her 2007 Debut CD “Exodus –The Way Out,” set to be one of the year’s finest releases.

This U.S. Pro Natural Cup (www.uscupnorcal.com/index.htm) is a WNBF (World Natural Bodybuilding Federation) sanctioned event and will feature both amateur and professional bodybuilding and figure competition. And Vadia.

Challenge of Champions XXVI

Congratulations to all Challenge of Champions XXVI Competitors

Challenge of Champions is the largest mixed martial arts competition in the United States. This twenty-sixth Challenge of Champions event boasted over 1,800 competitors of all ages, backgrounds and belt ranks participating in 300 divisions of head-to-head, dual-discipline martial arts competition. The event took place in front of a sold-out crowd of over 4000 spectators.

The areas of competition included Submission Grappling and Free Fighting, for both juniors (ages 15 and under) and adults (of all ages).

Submission Grappling is one of the largest and fastest growing disciplines in martial arts. This competition’s grappling event showcased nearly 1,485 competitors in various divisions. Submission grappling is similar to traditional wrestling in its clinch and ground fighting techniques, with the key difference of aiming for a “tap out” submission, using various choke holds and joint locks. Due to the fact that most real life fight situations end up on the ground, this is a very practical and effective form of self-defense.

Click here for the Grappling results.

Also featured was the Free Fighting competition with 1,167 students competing in various divisions.  This fast paced sparring competition features participants in full protective gear using strategic combinations of punches, kicks and blocks to cleanly land blows on their opponent and outscore them.
Click here for the Fighting results.

Challenge of Champions was introduced over a decade ago in 1996 and has grown to become the largest tournament of its kind in the United States. The next Challenge of Champions is scheduled for December 13, 2009.
