Britian’s Biggest Charity Lift
National Physique Association News
NPA Official JON BIBB is on the Fund Raising trial again, and this time the Charity to benefit is ‘Breast Cancer Care’ a very worthwhile Charity indeed. Just about everyone has a relative, or a friend, who has, or knows someone who has, suffered from Cancer, so please read the following, and if you wish to be a sponsor, or a participant doing some sort of Challenge on April 4th, then know that you have made a great contribution to fight something that affects so many people…if you only give £1, it would be a help. The NPA are very proud to help and back Jon, a selfless individual who is more than happy to help others.
BRITAIN’S BIGGEST CHARITY LIFT of 2009’
Big Bash 2009 - Britain’s Biggest Charity Lift
To be held on Saturday 4th April, between 2pm to 3pm in aid of Breast Cancer Care in conjunction with The Big Bash and the Natural Physique Association
Registered Charity Number 1054935 Part of NLG Hospitals NHS Trust Charitable Fund
After the success of last year’s charity leg press, it was decided to attempt something similar this year in order to raise money for Breast Cancer Care, a highly deserving charity that touches the lives of thousands of people throughout the UK.
Unlike last year, however, the 2009 Charity Challenge is open to participants from gyms throughout Great Britain - a great idea from Mrs. Diane Phillips which could result in thousands, rather than hundreds, of pounds being raised for a fantastic cause. It could also show the general public that the bodybuilding community is far from the ‘muscle-bound meathead’ image that is often portrayed in the popular press.
Each participant is designing their own strength, endurance or volume based challenge which can tie in with their individual training. So far the challenges include 200 chins; 300 dips; a 500 kg power-lifting total; a marathon 100 tonne leg press; and 10,000 kg on the bench press in under 1 hour!
So far, stepping up to the plate to accept the challenge are:
Kris Jones, Abergochi Gym, Treorchy, South Wales
James Moncrieff, Island Gym, Canvey Island
Jon Bibb, Empyrean Gym, Scunthorpe
Annie and Willie Uelese, Soho Gym, Camden, London
John Heaton, Total Fitness, Wakefield
Pete Bullard, Collymore Leisure Centre, Southampton
Ben France, Salt-Eyre Sports Centre, Lancaster
Helder Barroso, Extreme Gym, Leicester
Dale Wilson and Lesley Haswell, North Shore Gym, Sunderland
with more to follow!
Also, this year, each sponsor and challenger will get one entry into a prize draw. Prizes donated at this point include:
