On May 3rd 2009 a bodybuilding and fitness show named ‘Bob Classic’ was launched at the Kampala Sheraton. Organized by Bob Enterprise Fitness Consultants, a Los Angeles, California based health Awareness Company, the show was aimed at targeting students and career professionals between the ages of 18 and 65 by providing them with fitness training services, gymnasium setups, health awareness programs and body building and fitness development promotion services.

Robert Ssebugwawo, its director, says his company intends to organize body building contests and workshops to educate Ugandans on fitness and health. “Our target is mainly students and career professionals. Their main interest should be maintaining a healthy life style while aiming for personal fitness goals. Our vision is that our audience will enroll in fitness programs and utilize our sponsors’ products to enhance their health.” He says.

Ssebugwawo adds that he wants to inspire every Ugandan to engage in regular fitness exercises of any kind. “The theme of the forthcoming Bob Classic competition is Wealth in Fitness. I want to encourage Ugandans to exercise daily, eat nutritious food, rest enough more regularly and to go for periodical medical checkups to make sure that all is well with their health situations.”

Ssebugwawo has also donated a website, www.uabbfa.org, to the Uganda bodybuilding association to promote Ugandan bodybuilders to achieve international recognition. His works on fitness and bodybuilding is recognized and has been documented by Flex Magazine, the world’s number one body building magazine.

His company has also been working with Champion of the Champions, a Florida-based Bodybuilding icon; Gaspari Nutrition, a nutrition company; Dr. Rafael Santonja, the President of the International Federation of Bodybuilding and Fitness in Madrid; Mr. Olympia, Dexter Jackson and Anthony Melvin IFBB Professional among others.

Bob Fitness Consultants is involved in fitness training of the elderly and youth in Los Angeles, California, and intends to extend these programs to Uganda. In addition, the company intends to help interested Ugandans to set up and own gyms of their own. They want to assist all fitness enthusiasts by offering consulting services to them and to every sports team available in the country.

Ssebugwawo says his company will collaborate with UABBFA to hold monthly fitness seminars and forums. It will also conduct radio talk shows to teach Ugandans the basics and fundamentals of fitness and wellness. Ssebugwawo says he will hold annual fitness breakfasts to encourage Ugandans to master the principles of proper nutrition.

“We will introduce educative fitness workshops to train more fitness trainers who can help others in different parts of the country. I will also write fitness columns in newspapers and magazine to reach out to Ugandans and help them learn more tips of living well and healthy.”

Ssebugwawo intends to work hand in hand with the Ministry of Education and Sports to come up with better ways of “planting the seeds of fitness and health management” so as to have more fit Ugandans who are productive and versatile to help our beloved Uganda grow and prosper.

The Rush Fitness Complex in Knoxville, Tenn. will host the “Weider Superstar Seminar” and the inaugural “Lift for Life” bodyweight bench press competition on March 21 to benefit the Muscular Dystrophy Association. The competition is being held in conjunction with the second annual Weider Superstar Seminar returning again this year to Knoxville. The event is from noon to 4 p.m. at The Rush Fitness Complex in the Walker Springs Plaza. The “Lift for Life” bodyweight bench pressing competition will begin at 2 p.m. There is no fee for the seminar.Weider is a publisher of health and fitness magazines including “Flex,” “Muscle & Fitness,” “Muscle & Fitness Hers” and Shape among others. The event will be covered and featured by Weider and video will be posted on Flexonline. The seminar will consist of a men’s portion and a women’s portion that will cover topics training, competing and general health and fitness questions.

Individuals attending the seminar will have the opportunity to meet and talk with athletes such as Mr. Olympia, IFBB pro Dexter Jackson, bodybuilding champion IFBB Pro Dennis James, IFBB figure pro and cover model Jessica Putnam, IFBB Fitness Pro and fitness model Julie Lohre, and Flex bikini model winner and Weider athlete Kathleen Tesori, as well as Knoxville’s only IFBB pro bodybuilder, Dalton native Peter Putnam. Also attending will be Jen Widerstrom who stars as Phoenix on television’s American Gladiators. Putnam is the event organizer.

Contestants entering the bodyweight bench press competition will be competing to see how many times they can lift their own body weight. Trophies will be awarded to the top male and top female lifters. Those in attendance will also be able to challenge Jen Widerstrom (Phoenix) in the “Gladiator Charity Challenge” to a jousting match. Entry to compete is $25 for each event. All proceeds from both events and T-shirt sales will be donated to MDA.

Athletes will also sign merchandise to be auctioned.

The money raised at this event will be used to provide services and assistance for families in the Greater East Tennessee and Southwest Virginia area served by the local MDA offices.

The Muscular Dystrophy Association is a voluntary health agency- a dedicated partnership between scientists and concerned citizens aimed at conquering neuromuscular diseases that affect more than a million Americans.

Since the contest only happens once and the judges can only give you points based on what you display, it’s in your best interest to come fully prepared. The next FAME CAMP is on MARCH 8th Sunday in Central London,hosted by FAME Pros Audrey Kaipio and; Angie Weston.

The FAME CAMP will be held at Gold’s Gym on MARCH 8th SUNDAY from 12pm-3pm.
Please make sure you arrive early as the CAMP will start at 12pm sharp.

Cost is £25 and all athletes will get a FREE FAME magazine !
The CAMP will be hosted by FAME Pros and will cover all aspects from Modeling to Bodybuilding on stage.

*This CAMP will be filmed by LA MUSCLE TV to promote future FAME camps in UK,so make sure you’re looking hot and remember to always smile.

Please bring all out fits,bikinis and ladies make sure you bring your heels.
We will cover all aspects of competing!

No need to book in advance just turn up on time and you can pay on the day too.

What is a FAME camp?

FAME camps are seminars to help you to ensure that you understand everything about competing. It covers everything from posing on stage,what out fits to wear,make-up,hair & tanning tips to what the judges are looking for and more.
FAME camps are also available for athletes who would like to improve their posing ,stage presence and get other tips on competing. It’s a great way to improve your confidence on stage and you get to meet the other athletes too.

FAME camps are hosted by a FAME Pro athlete usually in a gym studio for 4hrs,so join us at the next FAME camp and shine like a Pro athlete on stage!
